We get it from our Mama! Career and Entrepreneurship w/Deaven Taylor
Welcome to this special Mother's Day edition of the View 112 Podcast. Today I've invited my sister, Deaven Taylor to chat. In the 90's, our mother open and operated her own quilt/quilt supply shop in our hometown. For many years before and even today, my mom freelances around her passion. Deaven and I discuss the highs and lows we witnessed as impressionable young ladies. Thank you mom for showing your two girls the guts, grit, sweat equity, and sacrifice it takes to be a small business owner and freelancer. We were paying attention.
Deaven works in the hotel industry. We discuss her experience as a working mom and I love the example she wants show her boys. Deaven and I talk candidly about why some of our previous business ventures failed. In the end, I think we both agree we can take those lessons and build again. I know I think so...
Finally, we discuss my Summer of Business Books Challenge. The June selection is The Spark and the Grind by Erik Wahl. I truly believe this book challenge will make us all better in our professional pursuits. Learn more about the Summer of Business Books Challenge and sign up to join the challenge here.
