American Prime Kitchen and Bar

American Prime Kitchen and Bar is an incredible new restaurant located in Tyson's Corner, VA. American Prime's menu features smoked prime rib, artisan charcuterie, dry aged beef, and mouth watering seafood selections. My friends and I had the pleasure of attending the soft launch of American Prime this weekend. What a cool way to spend Saturday night!

Upon entry to American Prime, I was immediately impressed by the beautiful details and decor. Some of the design features include beautiful brown and white tile floors, gorgeous floor to ceiling wine racks, and built in luxury amenities. One of the most impressive amenities is a private cigar lounge located in the rear of the restaurant and opening soon. The 360 bar also features an extensive wine and cocktail selection listed on iPads.

Now, let me tell you about the incredible meal we had!  To start, we asked our server to curate what he felt was the best to offer from the cheese and charcuterie selections. He did an amazing job: 

The highlight was the Bresaola Air Dried. It was delicious salty heaven!  Other starters we enjoyed were Shrimp Cocktail and a delicious Grilled Octopus. The entree menu was extensive and I was pleased with my choice . I've never meet a seared Ahi Tuna I didn't like and while this is primarily a meat spot, my tuna dish was incredibly executed:

My friends all tasted a bit and I had a some of their entrees which included the New York Strip and Crab Cakes. We all shared a host of side dishes including Crab Mac and Cheese, Cream Spinach, and our favorite: Blue Cheese Au Gratin Potatoes.

Finally we enjoyed a glass of wine at the 360 bar which was HOPPING! While there, we noticed a huge fire pit outside on the patio. It was a beautiful night, so we took our wine outside and enjoyed the fire pit. 

I highly recommend American Prime. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion dinner, post work happy hour, or business lunch/dinner (there is a private room with a projector and screen built into the ceiling).
